After a slight loss in 2009, first quarter now clearly positive
Despite a drop in sales, Pro Sky Germany handled the crisis year of 2009 well. The specialist for customised aircraft charters and scheduled tickets for group travel is now optimistic about the current financial year. In the first quarter of 2010, the Pro Sky team managed to increase sales by 10 percent as compared to the previous year. The recession of last year hit the aviation industry hard. This inevitably also left its mark on Pro Sky, specialist in customised air travel. Consequently, the preliminary figures for the financial year of 2009 reveal a slight loss of 67,000 euros (EBIT). “No company wants to make a loss,” says Managing Director Armin Truger. He added that Pro Sky also demonstrated during this phase, however, just how resistant to crises the company is. “Although sales fell by 50 percent to 10 million euros, we made a point of not announcing any redundancies but accepting a slight annual loss instead.” This is of great importance to the owner since equal value is attached to both profits and employee satisfaction in the company’s mission statement as indicators of its success. Pro Sky will publish more financial figures midyear when the final accounts for 2009 are available.
In the first quarter of 2010, all indicators for Pro Sky are now positive again. “Both the number of project enquiries and sales figures have increased significantly,” Armin Truger is pleased to announce. There is a growing market for corporate events again. Pro Sky is benefiting from its excellent position within this industry and the number of enquiries has increased by 12 percent and sales by 10 percent. “Our company is solidly positioned and the entire team is prepared to cater optimally to the rapidly growing demand for individual flight programmes for corporate events,” says Armin Truger.
Pro Sky serves customers worldwide in four business segments: aircraft charters, scheduled tickets for groups, airport and inflight services and Pro Sky Media, advertising specialist for media services during all phases of air travel. Pro Sky currently has offices in Cologne, Paris and São Paulo. For the year 2010, the management has plans for organic growth in all locations and in all business segments.
