Account Manager [f/m/d] (German speaking) | Cologne


Your mission is to retain, maintain and grow our existing clients.

You have the chance to rebuild and develop our Account Management in close alignment with the Head of Account Management. Initially, we will focus on Germany where you will work closely with our Operational and Sales Teams. In addition, you will have regular exchanges with the Product Team to better define what are the clients' issues and build, measure and learn about solutions developed.



First of all – very varied! You are in continuous exchange with your dedicated clients to understand their organisation, stakeholders and buying process and to find out their needs. Your communication partners range from Travel and Event Managers to Procurement Managers with many other travel related customer contacts and of course us – your colleagues. Together with your client, our operational colleagues and Product Team, you aim to strengthen the personal and business relationship and develop the business.

On the one day you will meet your clients (and us) in real life, on another day you will design and conduct a webinar for them. You will have days with mainly phone calls, virtual meetings or emails – and others with combinations of it all. You embrace the idea of using different software tools helping to improve communication and collaboration within the workplace. You are comfortable using a CRM software to strengthen relationships with existing customers.

You put the customer at the centre of action, you have a consistent focus on customers and their needs and the customer's perspective and interests are the most important consideration. With your in-depth understanding on the customer’s needs and together with our operational colleagues you ensure highest possible satisfaction, the development of the business and an increase in productivity.

When renegotiating agreements and increasing our market share, you are sales driven and easily pitch our products and benefits.

You also know when to stop selling and just listen. We believe that creating value for our clients and for us requires continuous development of products, processes and setting new standards. You are the pro-active hand to the Product Team when testing assumed solutions before the development starts. You check with the customer if their needs are really fully understood and covered. You accompany the complete development in constant exchange with the customer and the Product Team until the optimal solution has been found.

  • Excellent communication skills in German and English, French is a plus.

  • 4+ years proven experience in building (B2B) customer relationship, reliable existing customer development by providing solutions based on customer needs.

  • You demonstrate strong communication skills with ability in building relationships with all stakeholders.

  • Ideally you have experience in supporting Product development by continuous exchange with customers (You know when to sell for better product adoption & when to stop selling and just listen for constant product-account fit improvement.)

  • You have a natural hunger to increase the growth and margin of your customers (you are sales and targets driven paired with good negotiation skills).

  • You are digitally savvy, extremely comfortable using state of the art CRM.

  • You are hands-on with a problem solving mindset, ready to roll-up your sleeves and work hard.

  • You have a willingness to travel frequently.

  • You have a strong sense of humour.
