Fam Trip to Namibia: with PRO SKY as Travel Partner

In mid-February, we embarked on a Fam Trip to southern Africa as a partner in the annual MICE Trophy organised by MICE NOW. Departing from Frankfurt, we were on hand to meet and greet our clients in the airport lounge, and to ensure that everyone had access to our SMS service announcing flight times and gate changes. Once in Namibia, we met up with the other partners. The MICE Trophy event allows service providers from around the world to showcase their destinations and products. It is also an unparalleled opportunity for the MICE agencies who attend, as they discover not only the country or city they are visiting, but other destinations as well. This year, for example, Namibia, Colombia, Zambia and Abu Dhabi were on the agenda.

In our cohort, 7 partners including PRO SKY and the Namibia Tourism Board hosted 15 clients and prospects on a rally across Namibia in cooperation with Land Rover. Starting in Windhoek, our loop itinerary took us to the south, then to the coast and back to the capital. Along the way, our guests discovered the rich variety that Namibia has to offer, with a range of different accommodation types, superb restaurants, and awesome activities typical of the region.

For the participants, the key benefit of an event like this is networking and collaboration. Our guests enjoyed meeting their peers from other travel and event agencies, sharing experiences, and getting to know new partners like PRO SKY for their future group flight projects.

For us, it’s an important chance to meet our customers and showcase new destinations in an informal, inspiring setting. We also get to present our comprehensive and customised services, solutions and expertise to companies that may need group flight solutions in the near future.

An unforgettable experience – our Fam Trip to Namibia

The experience was based around a road trip from Windhoek to Sossusvlei, then on to Swakopmund.

In 6 days and 5 nights, we covered more than 1,300 km on gravel roads. Courtesy of 8 Land Rover Defenders and 2 guides, we enjoyed 7 hotels and lodges, a variety of restaurants, plus highlights including dinner in a lunar landscape, desert walks, a safari, and a sand dune rally with a Dune Trophy. All while savouring good conversation and spectacular scenery.
